Abstrak

The issue of (sara) ethnic, religion, race groups often develops in society through social media, especially when approaching the local elections, issues circulating very quickly to influence the perception of voters. The Election of the Governor of West Java (Pilgub Jabar) 2018 includes regional elections which are heavily peppered with sara issues that can threaten political resilience. The perception of voters in the West Java governor election starting from 2018 varies with the development of sara issues which attack several pairs of candidates for the 2018-2023 governors, starting from neutral perceptions, acknowledging the truth of these issues, to those who do not believe in these issues. Two major issues that developed during the West Java Pilgub 2018 namely the issue of ethnicity and the issue of religion. Issues relating to ethnicity were experienced by two candidates for governor namely Sudrajat and Deddy Mizwar, while issues relating to religion were experienced by Ridwan Kamil, Anton Charlian, and Dedi Mulyadi. The majority of informants behaved wisely in responding to sara issues circulating on social media and messengers because they were always clear, rational and realistic. Therefore, based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the perception of students on sara issues in the 2018 governor election is positive or good for regional political resilience because the sara issues in circulation are not immediately believed but are sought for sources and their truth.
