UPAYA PELESTARIAN PERMAINAN TRADISIONAL SUNDA KAULINAN BARUDAK GUNA MENINGKATKAN KETAHANAN BUDAYA DAERAH

Abstract

Traditional Sundanese games Kaulinan Barudak have not started to be forgotten because of technological developments that offer modern games based on Android. In addition, the role of parents is very influential in providing gadgets for children without introducing traditional games. As a result, children spend more time alone playing games on cellphones than playing with friends. To overcome this, efforts were needed to preserve the traditional Sundanese game Kaulinan Barudak. In Cibiru Village, Cicantayan Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province, there are communities that care about this phenomenon. The community is called Korang Bumi. The following are five preservation efforts of traditional Sundanese traditional games in Cibiru Village, Cicantayan District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province: the first is the socialization of traditional Sundanese games in the Korang Bumi Community; the second provides several facilities for playing traditional Sundanese games for children; the third is educating children to play traditional Sundanese games; the fourth is to make a traditional Sundanese game festival "Stilts Festival"; and the 10th Olympic Games and Traditional Games at Padjadjaran University, Bandung 2017. These efforts have implications for the resilience of a local culture. The three implications are kampong Cibiru as the icon of kampong egrang, awareness in having traditional Sundanese games so as to create a sense of pride and play traditional games as a form of conservation efforts.
