Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact at almost of all sectors. Adjustments and adaptations in this new normal are very important, so that the primary and secondary needs of the community can still be fulfilled. In the field of da'wah, the need to fulfill the spiritual aspect in the difficult times of COVID-19 is one that must undergo change. The spiritual aspect must transform towards digital in order to be able to convey its goals without being hindered by restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the current pandemic, the role of preachers and religious communities is very important to optimize digital media so that da'wah can continue in the midst of a pandemic


Pemuda Hijrah is one of the communities in the city of Bandung that makes the younger generation the target of its da'wah. Pemuda Hijrah – The Shift has established its community since early 2015. Pemuda Hijrah is symbolized by “Shift”, which is another word for the actual hijrah, namely change, displacement, and the like.


This study aims to find out how da'wah communication is used by the Pemuda Hijrah The Shift community during the Covid-19 pandemic.


The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with case studies. The technique used also uses in-depth interviews and observation techniques.


The result of this research is that the communication style that dominates the preachers in The Shift community is the communication style of The equalitarian style of communication. The da'wah program and the characteristics of da'wah communication carried out by Pemuda Hijrah – The Shift focus on creative da'wah methods, by utilizing technological advances through social media so that they succeed in creating da'wah innovations that are creative, unique, but still full of da'wah messages through their da'wah strategies and successfully utilize new media as much as possible, in order to spread da'wah content through social media in the era of the covid-19 pandemic.
