Abstract
Corticosteroids are a group of steroid hormones produced in the cortex of the adrenal glands and are drugs that are widely used and widely used in medicine. Inappropriate use of corticosteroids, both in terms of dose and duration of administration, can have serious consequences.
Corticosteroids in pediatric are often used as anti-Inflammatory. This anti- inflammatory effect is difficult to separate from its immunosuppressive effect because the inflammatory response is part of the immune response. The use of corticosteroids and the rationale for using corticosteroid preparations, especially in pediatric patients, are seen based on the length of time they are given.
This research is a non-experimental research/survey research method, a descriptive survey conducted on a set of objects that aims to see a picture of the phenomena that occur in a certain population (Notoatmodjo, 2002), with descriptive methods and retrospective data collection. Of the 170 samples based on the age studied, the average number of pediatric who are susceptible to infectious diseases is , the highest percentage is at the age of 1-5 years around (57.1%) , 6- 10 years (27.1%), this may be due to immune system that has not been fully formed, and is also accompanied by an irregular diet.
