Abstract

Stroke is often diagnosed in many healthcare facilities, with lipid profile levels being one of the contributing factors to this condition. Lipid profile, which consists of several types of fats in the blood, may have a role, both via modifiable and non-modifiable factors, in triggering a stroke. This study focuses on understanding the levels of lipid profiles in stroke patients. Descriptive quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach and utilizes medical records as the source of information. The data was collected from 80 stroke patients who underwent lipid profile examination at Al-Ihsan Regional General Hospital, West Java Province, between November 2023-April 2024. The variables analyzed include gender, age, and lipid profile parameters. The results indicate that the majority of patients are over the age of 50, with a ratio of 60 males to 40 females. While 66% of patients have normal levels of total cholesterol, 55% have normal levels of triglycerides, and 89% have normal levels of LDL, 95% of them have low levels of HDL. This finding indicates that low levels of HDL are the primary factor influencing lipid profiles in stroke patients.
