Abstract
This research is aimed to know the tool room information system design at Depo Locomotive PT. Kereta Api Indonesia. The research method used are by doing observation, interviews, and literature study. The data process of the total tools and the transaction of tools in the tool room has not used a computerized system. All the entry and out transaction of tools in the tool room are still done manually with note system in a loan book. Therefore, it is needed a computerized information system which is able to support the work activities in the tool room so that the work activities can be more controlled. The methodology which is choosen to design computerized information system is waterfall method. The designed system is a tool room information system designed by using Visual Studio 2010 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 as the database. This system is created to manage the data of tools, the transaction of tools loan, the transactions of tools returning and report. This designed information system is aimed to minimize the shortages of data and entry system which is used nowadays, so that the work activities in a tool room can be more effective, efficient, and controlled.
